Beauty | Must Haves

Spring is finally among us and the weather here in England has definitely upped its game. So, with the sun shining and the heat blazing, I thought I'd share my current beauty faves that I have been loving during these sunny days.

Fake Tan: I don't know about you, but as soon as the sun makes an appearance, I automatically wish I was tanned. In fact, I wish I could have a permanent tan all-year-round. Unlucky for me, I live in England and this is near enough impossible. However, there is a solution! Yep, you guessed it, FAKE TAN! My current favourite not only works in an hour, it actually does what it says AND its budget friendly. Ladies, I present to you, Superdrug's OWN BRAND: Solait ExpressTan in Dark, currently £3.29!!!

Benefit Precise Brow:  Now a lot of beauty gurus and bloggers have been going on about this for quite a while now. So, I decided to finally give in to the hype, and I can tell you that it is 1000% worth it. It is slightly on the pricier side for a brow pencil, compared to other brands such as Sleek and Rimmel, but Benefit is known to be a high end brand. With this in mind, the product is priced at £20, which some would consider an extortionate amount compared to your £2.99 Collection brow pencil, but don't forget, it's a beauty investment. I can tell you that it is worth every penny.

Benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil, Shade 4, £20
Available from Boots, Debenhams, Benefit
Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation: Over the past couple of months I have been trying a range of different foundations, desperately trying to find the right one for my skin. Now, I have normal to oily skin, and around my T-Zone, especially during the hotter days, my foundation can become slightly oilier than the rest of my face. However, since using this foundation and mixing it with my next fave (which I will talk about next), I have found it creates the perfect base for me. Available in Boots and Superdrug, £9.99

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation, No. 52, £9.99. Available from Superdrug, Boots
Clinique All About The Eyes Concealer, 01, £17. Available from Debenhams, Boots, Selfridges
Soap and Glory Hocus Focus: This product just works miracles! If you're wanting healthy, glowing, radiant skin, then look no further.  All you have to do is mix a tiny bit into your foundation and voila. Available in Boots, £11

Soap and Glory Hocus Focus, £11. Available from Boots

Clinique All About The Eyes Concealer: I find that brightening up your under-eyes, no matter what season it is, is an essential step in your makeup routine. It helps make you look more awake and creates a more natural base. Currently, I am using and loving the Clinique ‘All About The Eyes Concealer’. I find that this concealer in particular is a lot thicker in texture and has a slight yellow undertone, helping to get rid of any dark circles. It blends like a dream, and is overall an winner. Available at any Clinique counter, £17

Skincare | Proactiv +

It’s a given that all of us experience breakouts, and if you don’t, well then you’re hella lucky. For me, I’m one of the ones that experience an unfortunate amount of them, whether it be because of stress, my diet, or it’s that time of the month. I wouldn’t say that I have acne, I mean, my skin is fairly clear for the majority of the time; with the exception of the odd blemish here and there and a few scars.

Whenever a new blemish appears, I don’t know about you, but it instantly makes me feel insecure. Not that it should, like I said before, it’s something we all experience. So, to try and get my skin looking as best as it possibly can, and after receiving a promo code (lol), I decided to try Proactiv +.

Core Products

After receiving the products just a few days after I placed the order, my new skin care regime started. With my order, I received the three steps, as well as a facemask and an electronic deep cleansing brush.

Step one is the ‘Skin Smoothing Exfoliator’. This is like an ordinary facewash, except you massage it into dampened skin for around 1-2 minutes. The next step, step two, is the ‘Pore Targeting Treatment’. This is a face cream that specifically focuses on minimizing the appearance of your pores. Lastly, step three: ‘Complexion Perfecting Hydrator’. This final step is a face moisturiser, that as it states, focuses on hydrating the skin and making it look more radiant. These three steps should be done both day and night for the best results.

Step One

Step Two

Step Three

After using mine for around two weeks now, I have been able to see a notable difference in the appearance and radiance of my skin! My pores have practically closed up completely, my breakouts have significantly reduced, if not stopped, and my makeup has become a lot easier to apply, making it look a lot more natural and skin-like.

Overall, I would highly recommend Proactive+. If you would like to find out more, check out their website: https://www.proactiv.co.uk

LALALAB | Print Your Photos

A way that I find great to personalise my room at uni or back home, is to fill it with as many pictures as possible. Some people may think this is vain, but I’d argue that it’s a fab way to, a. decorate your room, and b. it reminds you of all the great memories you’ve made with friends and family, and a way to showcase the things that makes you you.

There’s one particular website that I love to use when it comes to printing my photos. This is LALALAB, it’s a website that allows you not only to print off photos but, it you are also able to create canvas’s, calendars, posters, magnets, boxes and so so much more!

In the meantime, if you fancy checking it out, here’s a code that entitles you to £5 off your first order. Simply just type in this code PGJW3GJC at the checkout, and voila!

Day Trip | Saatchi Gallery

Located in The Duke of York Square, Chelsea, the Saatchi Gallery is filled with a range of  minimalistic artwork all the way to bold eye-catching pieces. Now, I am no means an expert of any kind when it comes to art, but sometimes you can visit a gallery and find yourself staring at peoples work, wondering how on earth such a basic piece can be called 'art'. However, in the Saatchi Gallery I was amazed. I found myself completely dazed and entranced in how utterly beautiful some of them are.

The gallery is free of any entry charges and is open 10am-6pm everyday, making it the perfect day trip. Also, with it being located in the Duke of York Square, Kings Road, it also makes a good temporary break from shopping and the rush of the busy London streets.

In the Saatchi Gallery there are four floors, each consist of around 3-4 different gallery rooms. In each of the gallery rooms there are about 6-10 paintings or pieces of art, all of which fit some sort of theme that is consistent in that room.

Located on one of the floors, the gallery has its own shop, which you are able to purchase a range of different pieces of artwork, books, arts and crafts, stationary and much more. For me, it was hard to resits not buying absolutely everything!

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my day out in Chelsea and would definitely go back again.

Until next time,

Nadia
